The AAC P.A.G.E.S is a comprehensive resource book to assist professionals in promoting success with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). This book includes the following chapters: Introduction, AAC Communicator Profiles, AAC Guide to Goals, Education and Collaboration, and Strategies. The AAC Communicator Profile discusses AAC Communicator Categories that will assist in determining appropriate short and long-term goals. The book contains definitions of each category as well as a detailed description of the AAC Communicator Profile (tool for determining AAC Communicator Categories, learning style, and factors for success). The Guide to Goals provides a hierarchy of goals for the following categories: Emerging, Nonsymbolic or Inconsistent Symbolic, Functional, Generative, and Gestalt Communicators. The education and collaboration section provides suggestions and forms that will help with the collaborative process of writing goals, incorporating communication opportunities at school and home, and correspondence to keep all members of the child's team accountable for implementation. Finally, the strategies sections provides strategies for the following areas: creating communication opportunities, selecting vocabulary, teaching symbolic communication, and teaching gestalt communicators.
