The COPE CAT is a differential diagnosis tool for pediatric speech sound disorders. It includes a comprehensive guide for arriving at a diagnostic conclusion using case history review, oral mech intake, phoneme and syllable shape inventory and error analysis. From this information, etiology, distinctive and descriptive characteristics are determined and then considered to arrive at a diagnostic conclusion. This comprehensive analysis tool (CAT) is a place to include all the necessary information in one document for review. The forms that are included can be placed directly into reports or shared with other professionals. The COPE CAT assists SLPs in differentially diagnosing articulation and phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, and dysarthria.  The COPE CAT also includes a one page summary of principles of treatment for each pediatric speech sound disorder, along with a list of treatment options.
